  Delicious cabernets representative of the Stags Leap AVA--a southeastern foothill region that basks in the afternoon light.
  
  The Fay is more approachable and fruit forward, the SLV more tightly wound and structured, the Cask attempts to blend the best characteristics of both.
  
  Recent vintages (drought/semi-drought years) have all been stellar. Though the '13 Cask received a near-perfect 99 RP and is therefore scarce (arguably a "greater" vintage), the '12-'15 vintages across the board are all very good.
  
  Price point is in line with well-known Napa cab producers as you're paying for the provenance (a Shafer Hillside Select from the same region will still run you $50-100 more vs. a Cask 23).
  
  Their claim to fame was the 1976 Judgement of Paris, along with Montelena's chardonnay, beat out similar French wines; also briefly featured in a wine manga called the Drops of God ;)
  
  There was a lot of worry after this place went corporate and sold out--some charm is gone, but the wine has not degraded.
  
  Not the best of Napa views as you're generally staring at a lifeless rock, but the close proximity to the vines does immerse you a bit in the terroir--which is further highlighted by the Fay and SLV.
  
  Generally friendly hosts if it's not too busy of a weekend. Stress and tensions may run high however if you're fighting the crowd (then again just like other wineries in Napa, or Disney Land). Reservations at least a week in advance is recommended, and required for larger parties.
  
  Go for the experience and collect for the provenance. Just don't buy the Artemis here because it's cheaper at Costco.
